Bolsover closes door to contest entries

Unprecedented demand means that the line-ups for the 2016 Bolsover Festival of Brass are full up.

Bolsover Festival of Brass
All the banding seats are filled at Bolsover this year.

The 2016 Bolsover Festival of Brass competition has announced that due to unprecedented demand it has reluctantly been forced to close its doors to any further direct entries for the event to be held on Sunday 2nd October.

Amazing response

A spokesperson old 4BR: "We have enjoyed an amazing response from bands in all sections — but we are now full up.

The Championship and First Section have been completely oversubscribed and we cannot accept any more bands, even on a waiting list. Second, Third, Fourth and Unregistered Section bands can still be placed on a waiting list, but we urge them to contact us immediately.

Our thanks go to everyone who has contacted us — and it shows that such an innovative contest approach which offers bands the opportunity to showcase their talent is one that works, and works well."

Filled

The festival was broadcast successfully over the internet in 2015 and demand for places for the 2016 contests has resulted in the line-ups being filled quickly.
