Drighlington announces end of Roberts partnership

The musical partnership between Drighlington Band and John Roberts has come to an end.

The First Section Yorkshire based Drighlington Band has announced the departure of their experienced MD, John Roberts.

Successful

It ends a short but successful tenure that that started in September 2015 after he took over from long serving MD Jim Davies and included an impressive runner-up finish the Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness in January.

Although they failed to qualify for Cheltenham at Bradford, further solid results were achieved at the Senior Trophy and regional march & hymn tune contests.
