Butlins extends closing date for entries

Butlins has extended its closing date — with a call for bands at both ends of the contesting spectrum to get in touch.

Butlins
Butlins is looking for a few more entries for their line-up of contenders

The closing date for the forthcoming Butlins Mineworkers Championships to be held at the Skegness Skyline Resort on the weekend of January 13th — 16th has been extended.

Include in calendar

Although electronic entry packs were sent to every band on the organisers data base, Butlins now hope that the extension will allow bands, who may not have received them due to administrative changes, to include the event in their contest calendar.

The new closing date is Saturday, 15th October.

Welcome entries

Contest organiser Brian Eggleshaw told 4BR: "I would welcome hearing from a few more bands wishing to enter the contest, particularly Fourth Section and surprisingly, the Championship Section.

The exceptionally generous prize pots should be a real incentive to bands at both ends of the senior contesting spectrum."

Youth and un-registered

Youth and Un-registered Section Entry Packs have been sent out over the last few days by ordinary mail to the addresses. The closing date for these is Saturday, 22nd October.
