Usk Brass Band recently said goodbye to two very special players as solo trombone player Simon Haslett and flugel playing wife Sam moved to west Wales due to job relocation.
Nurturing talent
Both Sam and Simon were playing in Usk Band when MD Jeff Jones took over 15 years ago.
From those humble beginnings together they helped enormously in the nurturing of the playing talent, culminating in them proudly playing their part when the band become National Fourth Section champion in 2015.
