UniBrass play for brass for Christmas

The hard working students behind the great UniBrass Championships are looking to raise money for the event the hard but traditional way this Christmas — and you can help too....

The students of Uni Brass are taking to the streets to raise funds for the 2017 UniBrass Championship

The UniBrass Committee is currently hard at work fundraising in the time-honoured fashioned of Christmas carol playing!

The players have spent the last four days on Parliament Street in York, and will be moving on to Victoria Gate in Leeds in the last week before Christmas. They have also offered the invite to fellow students (as well as anyone with an instrument) to join them in their endeavors on Saturday 17th of December at the York Christmas Markets.

Bring together

The event aims to bring brass players together from across the country, students or otherwise, for an impromptu gathering of festive fun in the midst of the famous York Christmas Festival!

All proceeds will go towards the running of the 2017 contest, which will be hosted at Harrogate International Centre on the 18th of February.

Multiple slots

They will be playing multiple slots throughout the day, with carol books provided. All you need is your instrument — and a sprinkling of tinsel and a Santa hat if you have one!

Everyone is welcome to join the event at St Helen's Square from 1.30pm.

More details about the event can be found on it's the UniBrass facebook page.
