2017 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award finalists announced

The four finalists vying to be crowned 2017 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award winner have been announced.

  Representatives from Black Dyke, Brighouse & Rastrick and Fairey are amongst this years Radio 2 Young Brass Award finalists.

The four talented performers who will take part in the final of the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award 2017 competition have been announced.

Trombonists Isabel Daws and Ellena Newton, cornetist James Nash and tenor horn player Siobhan Bates were selected by judges Helen Vollam and David Childs following a high quality semi-final that that saw eight performers separated only after much discussion and debate.

Tremendous final

The final will be broadcast live on Radio 2 from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Friday April 21st, presented by Clare Freeman and Listen to the Band's Frank Renton.

The four players will perform alongside Foden's Band who will give a short concert of their own as the judges decide who should take the coveted title.
