Whitburn prepare Pageantry for show

The Scottish Open champion will be showcasing their 'Pageantry' prep ahead of their appearance at Perth

The Whitburn Band under conductor Prof Nicholas Childs will host an open rehearsal ahead of its challenge on 'Pageantry' by Herbert Howells at this year's Scottish Championships.

The free event will be held at Whitburn Academy at 7.30pm on Friday March 10th. (Shanks Road, Whitburn EH47 0HL)

Also joining the will be Whitburn Heartlands, Broxburn & Livingston and Dunaskin Doon, who will also perform their set-works for the event.

Concert support

Meanwhile, the Scottish Borders Brass Band Association has announced that the band will play a concert on Saturday 25th March at Melrose Parish Church (7.30pm) to help support the fund raising towards sending the Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band (SBYBB) to Ostend to take part in the European Youth Brass Band Championships.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
