  David has gained widespread conducting experience

Blaenavon Town Band has announced the appointment of Musical Director, David Langley.

David has played with the band since the age of 7, finally becoming a much respected BBb tuba player, whilst he has honed his conducting skills with university bands and ensembles as well as Pontypool and Upper Rhondda Brass Band. He is currently Musical Director at Bristol Concert Wind Band.

On call

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Over the last five years David has been our 'on call' conductor taking us for many concerts, engagements and more recently the Wychavon contest. He's a fantastic musician and we could not be prouder to see David take this step from player to MD."

In response the new MD added: "The band has a strong core of players and real potential in our young players.
