The death has been reported of the respected West Country recording engineer Paul Martyn. He passed away on Saturday 3rd February following a long illness.
25 years of recordings
His company PM Sound, which he founded over 25 years ago, specialised in recording brass bands and choirs in Cornwall, Devon and throughout the West of England.
Initially issued on cassettes, he soon produced CD recordings, with several hundred being made and enjoyed by brass band fans.

His friend Philip Hunt told 4BR: "As an independent company based in Truro, Paul supervised the recordings personally and was able to assist bands and choirs in producing recordings in relatively small quantities to raise funds.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends."
