Hammonds Saltaire Band solo horn player Zoe Wright certainly made a mark at the recent European Championships in Utrecht after she was awarded the role of solo horn with the European Youth Brass Band conducted by Ivan Meylemans.

Zoe has also played solo horn for the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, with Hammonds MD Morgan Griffiths telling 4BR: "Everyone at Hammonds is very proud of Zoe being selected for these prestigious roles.

It comes as no surprise though, as she is making a huge contribution to the band and has put in fantastic performances already this year — and will be an integral part of our assault at the Grand Shield contest in Blackpool this weekend."
