Scottish Champion Whitburn, will be warming up for its appearance at the British Open Championship in Birmingham in September with a high profile appearance at this year's famous Edinburgh International Festival.

Guests

The band will be guests of renowned folk band Lau at a concert in the city's Leith Theatre on Saturday, August 18th — and will be the second time they have teamed up fooling their joint appearance at the Celtic Connections event in Glasgow earlier this year.

The concert will also feature Egyptian experimental artist Nadah El Shazly, Joan As Police Woman, avant-folk star Alasdair Roberts and the unaccompanied vocal quartet, Landless.

Traditional folk singer Siobhan Wilson, electro DJ, Some Chick Called Bob and James Holden are also on the bill.

Whitburn will perform 'Time for Outrage!' by Marco Putz, the set-work for the 2018 European Championships in Utrecht earlier this year.

Artistic quality

Band President, David Kinross, told 4BR: "The players in the band thrive on playing at events high in artistic quality.

They thoroughly enjoyed performing to a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience at Celtic Connections, and are looking forward to a similar experience at the Edinburgh International Festival."
