Clifton & Lightcliffe enjoy Italian passions

Members of the Yorkshire band certainly enjoyed their recent trip to the beautiful surroundings of Lake Maggiore in Italy.

The band enjoyed their stay on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy

Three years after they last left UK shores, Clifton & Lightcliffe Band recently travelled to Italy to Stresa on the shores of the beautiful Lake Maggiore, for a week-long tour.

And whilst staying at the impressive lakeside Regina Palace Hotel, the band provided no less than three concert performances.

Marriage proposal

After the first at the hotel's conference facilities, Italian passion overcame cornet player Alex Murray, who took the opportunity to go down on one knee and ask girlfriend Kerry Lawrence to marry him.

Much to the delight of everyone in attendance (including Alex), Kerry accepted her surprise proposal!

A second concert was undertaken in the town of Ispra where the band performed on the last evening of a weeklong annual festival, with the third at the Roca Castle at Riva del Garda.

Wonderful time

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We has a wonderful time and gave three concerts that were so well received.

The Mayor of Ispra was delighted to welcome the band back again and it was great to see all the friends we made on our last visit."
