Ambitious Yorkshire band look ahead to life in the First Section in 2019 boosted by a trio of new signings.

  Crofton welcomes three new signings as they plan for 2019

Crofton Silver Band has announced a trio of new signings to herald its arrival into the First Section in 2019 for the first time in its 144 history.

On the back of excellent results at the National Final and in the Championship Section at the Bolsover Festival of Brass the band is delighted to welcome Sam Morris, Gareth Jones and Eiry Allender.

Signings

Sam joins from Skelmanthorpe Prospect on second cornet, whilst Eb tuba player Gareth has recently moved to Yorkshire following spells with Aldbourne and Filton Concert.

Eiry has just started at Leeds University studying music and electronics, and joins having played repiano for BTM Band and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.

August 22 • Wantage Community Brass (non-competitive) are looking to recruit a new Musical Director. The group is unique in that the average age is almost certainly around 70! They rehearse on Tue from 4pm and Thu from 7pm (both times flexible depending on person).
