There has been further success for the newly crowned Scottish champion cooperation band to enjoy, with the news that their talented EEb tuba player Gavin Johnson will represent Scotland as part of the European Youth Brass Band, which will be featured at the forthcoming festival that takes place in Montreux in Switzerland.

Over the moon

Gavin told 4BR: "I'm over the moon to be given this fantastic opportunity. Everyone knows how difficult it is to be picked for the band, especially as you are up against the best young players from all over Europe. This is a great honour to represent Scotland and I'm really looking forward to it."

Another great boost

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "This is another great boost to the cooperation band following on from our success in Perth on the weekend. We wish Gavin well and we are sure he will represent the cooperation band and Scotland with pride."
