Camborne Town Band has announced that MD Kevin Mackenzie has stepped down from the role of resident Musical Director due to increase in his successful professional work career.

During his tenure the Cornish band enjoyed considerable success, including a sixth place finish at the 2015 National Championships, two top-10 finishes at the Grand Shield and a number of local contest successes at Torquay and Bugle.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band would like to thank Kevin for all of his hard work during his time with us and in which we have enjoyed many memorable and successful occasions on the contest and concert stage.

Although he will no longer be working with us on a full time basis, we are delighted that Kevin will continue to be involved with the band going forward."
