World Rankings — June update

UK Band of the Year win sees Cory secure an unassailable position at the top of the rankings.

  Cory Band celebrating their recent victory at the UK Band of the Year contest

The latest Band Supplies — 4barsrest.com World Rankings see Cory extend its lead at the top following its victory at the inaugural BrassPass.tv UK Band of the Year Contest.

Having already led the rankings for the past 12 years, Cory's lead is now larger than any band has enjoyed since the rankings were first published in 2001. With existing points reducing by 50% each year, it seems rather a long shot that Cory, the most consistent band in contesting history over the past two decades, will even be overtaken in 2020, such is its current dominance on the contest stage.

Other contests taking place since the last update were:

German Entertainment Contest — won by Brass Band BlechKLANG;
Northern Counties BBA — won by Newtongrange;
Dutch Open Championships — won by Festival Brass Band;
French Open Championships — won by Flowers;
Bugle Contest — won by Camborne Town.
Spring Festival — with victories for NASUWT Riverside, Northop Silver and VBS Poynton
