Exmouth Festival on the horizon

The popular Exmouth Festival will look to attract bands to the town next month.

Exmouth
The Exmouth Festival will take place in September

The 20th Exmouth Brass Band Festival, promoted and organised by the South West Brass Band Association will take place on Saturday 7th September.

It will see a maximum entry of 15 bands from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset with over 500 band players and supporters descending on the town.

Own choice programmes

The music takes place in the Exmouth Pavilion with bands competing for the Exmouth Town Council Challenge Trophy with their 25-minute own-choice programmes looking to catch the ear of adjudicator, Steve Pritchard-Jones.

Throughout the day the bands will also entertain the general public with 30-minute concerts in the adjacent Pavilion Gardens.

The contest day starts at 10.00am concluding with the results and presentation ceremony when the Mayor of Exmouth, and the President of the South West Brass Band Association, Sue Richards, will present the trophies.

The organisers also plan a musical spectacle with the popular massed band performance in the gardens.

SWBBA is indebted to the Exmouth Town Council and Trevada Music for their generous support, and to Leisure East Devon and management and staff of The Pavilion for their assistance in promoting the Festivalorganisers
