Garry Cutt and Nigel Boddice head the adjudication teams at the 2020 Yorkshire Regional Championships.

Garry Gutt will return to the Yorkshire box for the first time since 2001

Yorkshire's elite level bands will have to impress the experienced adjudication team of Nigel Boddice and Garry Cutt if they are to claim their places at the Royal Albert Hall National Finals next year.

With Black Dyke and Brighouse & Rastrick already pre-qualified thanks to their top-four finishes in London last weekend, two places will be up for grabs at the contest on Sunday 8th March.

Yorkshire returns

It will be the first time that the Fairey Band conductor has adjudicated an Area top section contest since his appearance in the box at the North of England Regional Championships in 2001.

He has however, judged in Yorkshire before — also in 2001 in the Third Section, but in recent years has added to his CV of appointments at the European, Swiss, French and Dutch National Championships and Spring Festival.

He will be joined by Nigel Boddice MBE, one of the most respected adjudicators in the banding world. He was in the box at the 2019 British Open and adjudicated the top section in Yorkshire in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, and 2015.

Judging teams

The First Section will see Nigel joined by Steve Pritchard-Jones, with David Hirst and Sarah Groarke-Booth tasked with Second Section.

David and Steve Pritchard-Jones will judge the Third Section, with Duncan Stubbs and Richard Marshall the Fourth.

The event will take place at Huddersfield Town Hall on the weekend of 7th/8th March.
