Annan Town Band has announced the appointment of their new conducting team.

Simon Railton will take on the role of Resident Conductor with Andrew Warriner (above) becoming the new as Musical Director with immediate effect.

Thrilled

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We're thrilled to be moving forward with Simon and Andrew at the helm for what has become one of the busiest and most successful periods in the band's history."

Experience

Andrew Warriner has gained a wealth of experience as an accomplished conductor, player and adjudicator. He has played with the likes of Foden's, Eikanger Bjorsvik and Grimethorpe and led a number of bands to outstanding success as a conductor with the likes of J36 Brass and Morecambe amongst others.

Meanwhile, Simon has been regular presence at Annan for a number of years, both as a player and conductor.

He recently relocated back to the area with his family which enables him to return to the band after enjoying spells as a player at Whtburn and also as Resident Conductor with Newland Concert Brass.
