Crofton Silver Band has welcomed a brace of new signings as they look ahead to making their top flight debuts in 2020.

Crofton
Crofton Silver has enjoyed remarkable success under MD Dean Jones — including a National title success at Cheltenham

Crofton Silver Band has announced the arrival of two new signings.

Graham Drury joins on soprano cornet from Thorseby Colliery Band after an enjoyable 14 year tenure with the Midlands band, with Martin Gill coming in from Skelmanthorpe Prospect on solo Eb tuba.

Step forward

MD Dean Jones told 4BR: "The signings represent a real step forward as we prepare for our first appearance in the Yorkshire Championship Section in 2020.

Both players bring with them a wealth of top level banding experience, with Martin having played at Brighouse for 14 years and Graham at Thoresby. Both strengthen the band as we prepare for the most significant contest season in our 145 year history."

Thanks

The band also took the opportunity to thank long serving principal cornet Andrew Clutton who has decided to take a break from playing his family awaits the arrival of their second child.
