Whitburn presents annual awards

Players from all parts of the Whitburn Band organisation gained recognition at their recent annual awards presentations.

The Whitburn Band recently presented its annual awards with solo horn player Alison Hall named 2019 'Player of the Year' and soprano star Scott Forrest voted as 'Players' Player of the Year' for the second time.

Neill Gourlay was announced as 'Bandsperson of the Year', while Graham Fraser was presented with a special 'Chairperson Award' for his outstanding service. There was an award made for a decade of membership to Stephen Duncan.

Next generation

The next generation of Whitburn players were not left out either, with awards for Whitburn Wee Band members Elissa Kerr, Xander Kerr, Aidan Seatter and Eilidh Farren, while Eilidh Stephenson gained well deserved promotion to the Whitburn Youth Band.

The Whitburn Youth Band prizes went to 'Most Improved Player', Adam Neilson; 'Player of the Year', Ross Gilchrist and 'Bandsperson of the Year', Aidan Barr, with Zoe Wilson gaining promotion to the Whitburn Heartlands Band.

Their awards were presented to 'Youth Player of the Year', Morgan Jones and 'Players' Player of the Year', Sam Knox.
