Top players come together for COVID-19 musical response

A Virtual All-Star Brass Band is being brought together to help aid the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation.

The All Star Band is being out togther by Andrew Wainwright

During these times of isolation a common trend has been to bring together musicians through virtual videos.

One such project that is being launched is a Virtual All-Star Brass Band, which is being assembled in aid of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation. The band is being put together by the composer and journalist Andrew Wainwright.

Wonderful players

Andrew told 4BR: "We have a truly world-class line-up of players signed up, representing around a dozen countries. It really is a who's who of players from around the banding world, and I am delighted that so many wonderful players have agreed to take part.

It's safe to say it would be nearly impossible to get this group of players altogether in one room ordinarily, but due to the wonders of technology this is being made possible!

He added: "I never imagined that so many of the players would agree to feature, so I'm very grateful to each of them for taking time out of their busy schedules to contribute."

In recording

Each player is in the process of recording their part to a specially selected piece.

In the lead-up to the release of the video, there will be a daily reveal of the identity of each section of the band at Andrew's Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/andrewwainwrightmusic/ along with more details about the project.

There will also be updates at www.awainwrightmusic.com

The proceeds of the project will go towards the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which is raising money on behalf of the United Nations Foundation to help fight the coronavirus around the world.
