Stavanger look for challengers to their inventive crown...

The Norwegian champion is hoping the banding world will pick up on its challenge to come up with variations on its own theme of musical invention...

Withington
Allan Withington is looking for an inventive challenge...

The Norwegian champion Stavanger Brass Band has launched its 'Corona Virus Vibes' music challenge through its Facebook page.

Being the brainchild of Musical Director Allan Withington it is certainly a little different (as can be seen by his introduction).

Accept the challenge

All bands have to do is accept the 'challenge' of trying something as equally different — just keep the melody, but add all you own variations of key, tempo, harmony, style and even instrumentation on the theme!!

To find out more all you have to do is follow the link below...

The original two part version and the rules are on our website at www.stavanger-brassband.com

Variations on a theme

So why not try it with a your band, a small ensemble or even go for the wackiest most inventive offering you can think of such as cornet, euphonium, side drum and ondes-martenot, or violin, bass trombone and the Vienna Children's Choir adding back up?

Come up with the best ideas — be as inventive as you possibly can — and simply enjoy yourselves making music.
