The band's social isolation performance is in aid of local care homes

The Fishburn Band is raising money through Just Giving to donate to care homes in their local area to help them through the current Coronavirus pandemic and support their ongoing medical and wellbeing work.

To support their fundraising efforts the band has put together a virtual performance of the hit 'Friend like Me', which can be enjoyed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDhpa5lfSqs

Half way

Band spokesperson Abi Groocock told 4BR: "We are about half way to our target and when the relaxation of restrictions allows and it is safe we will also give a concert in honour of the care home staff and residents. and hope residents and staff will be able to attend as guests of honour."

The band is based in the village of Fishburn, near Sedgefield in County Durham, and is hoping to raise £900 in giving something back to the community that has supported them so heavily over the years.

Whilst we can't wait to get back to the band room, we hope that raising these funds will go some way towards helping the community we love through this crisisFishburn Band

Proud

Band Manager, Paul Brickle added: "As a band firmly rooted in our local community and proud of the great work that goes on in our area, we wanted to do our bit to raise money for local causes that are working so hard in this unprecedented situation.

Whilst we can't wait to get back to the band room, we hope that raising these funds will go some way towards helping the community we love through this crisis."
