The presentation will be made by Michael Alcorn

The next Brass Bands England webinar will see Downshire Brass Musical Director Michael Alcorn lead a presentation on creating socially-distanced band performances.

Focus

Using the winning entry of Downshire Brass for the recent Cory Band Online Contest as a point of reference, he will focus on tips and techniques aimed at maximising the quality and impact of online video productions. The emphasis of the talk will be on low cost technologies.

Michael is Professor of Music and Dean of Internationalisation in the Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences at the Queen's University, Belfast. He has worked with Downshire Brass since 2009 and has led them in contest performances and successes at home and abroad — including competing in the Challenge Section of the European Brass Band Championships.

He has engineered and mastered three CDs with the band and produced a series of online weekly concerts throughout the lockdown.

Time and date

This webinar will be delivered online on Tuesday 27th October (7.00pm) using the Zoom webinar platform so attendees can interact and ask questions throughout the session.

This session is free for BBE members, and £5 for non-members.
