Shrewsbury Brass Band recently hosted a concert at their local St Chads Church alongside Shropshire Boys Choir and Of One Accord Choir that raised more than £4,000 for the people in Ukraine.

Fabulous numbers

An audience of over 500 people attended, with Band Chairperson Richard Pulford telling 4BR: "We have to thank St Chads Church for allowing us to use the facilities free of charge and to the audience for turning out in such fabulous numbers".

Shrewsbury Brass Band conducted by Steve Pritchard-Jones performed a varied programme of light music including 'The Essence of Brass', 'Bui Doi', 'Prelude 49th Parallel' and 'Florentiner March'. For the finale all the performers combined to perform 'Hymn to the Fallen', 'You'll Never Walk Alone', and 'The State Anthem of Ukraine'.
