Martin Heartfield (centre) welcomes the new signings

Following the band's recent podium success at the Bolsover Festival of Brass, the Skelmanthorpe Band has announced the signings of the experienced duo of Martin and Liz Oke on Eb tuba and horn respectively.

With a busy concert and contest schedule ahead MD Martin Heartfield told 4BR that he is delighted to secure the services of two valuable new players.

Thrilled

Meanwhile, Martin and Liz added: "We're thrilled to return to Skelmanthorpe and look forward to playing with a band that has a great atmosphere made by a fantastic group of players."

The band has taken the opportunity to thank Gemma Griffiths, who recently stepped away to spend more time with her young family, for her tremendous contribution to them.
