Following their appearance together at the recent Welsh Regional Championships, Ynyshir Band has announced that conductor Robert Burnett has accepted the position as Musical Director.

The experienced former Cory, Tredegar and Parc & Dare euphonium player led the Third Section band to a podium finish in Swansea, just missing out on a trip to the Cheltenham National Finals.

Looking forward

Band spokesperson Matt Poole told 4BR: "From the first rehearsal together the band and Rob quickly gelled to form a productive and successful partnership. He has brought his musicality and knowledge, all delivered in a relaxed, enthusiastic manner and we are now looking forward to the future."
