Ben Halstead has been appointed as the Musical Director of the Hyde Band.

The former RWCM&D graduate has been a musician in the British Army since that time, as well as playing at the highest level in the civilian banding world with the likes of Flowers and Desford.

Army Bandmaster

He served as a member of the Band of the Prince of Wales's Division and British Army Band Tidworth before gaining a position on the highly coveted British Army Bandmaster Course where he graduated in July 2023.

He has travelled extensively having visited Georgia, Uganda, Pakistan, and Afghanistan amongst others and has been assigned to the Band and Bugles of the Rifles, based in Winchester. He now is employed within the Royal Military School of Music.
