Jason Nippert will take the baton with Dublin Metro Brass

Dublin Metro Brass from central Ohio in the USA has announced the appointment of Jason Nippert as their new Interim Musical Director through the Spring 2025 contest season.

Jason previously played trombone with the band until 2023 and will return to lead them at the Dublin Festival of Brass in March and at the Third Section of the North American National Championships in April.

Experience

He is currently the Assistant Band Director at Dublin Coffman High School and has been involved in the brass band community in Dublin since 2014 when he first participated in the Dublin Youth Brass Band.

A featured composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist he has also performed with the Dublin Youth, Dublin Silver, and Dublin Cornet Band's. He is currently the Assistant Conductor and lead trombone for the Dublin Cornet Band.

Welcome

Speaking about the appointment, Band President, Megan Wistinghausen told 4BR: "I'm thrilled to welcome Jason. His exceptional experience as a music educator and his past involvement with our band, both as a player and a conductor, bring a deep understanding of our ensemble's unique strengths.

We are all excited for the fresh energy and vision he will bring to our band as DMB moves to our next chapter."

Excited

In response, Jason added: "I'm most excited about re-joining Metro Brass in a leadership capacity and helping to develop a community of performers who both love playing their instruments and being together every week."
