The Flowers Band has welcomed two new cornet signings as they prepare for a busy year of concert and contest appearances.

Roberts experience

The experienced Ian Roberts recently joined as Assistant Principal Cornet.

The former soprano, flugel and cornet at Cory, and soprano and principal cornet at Tredegar has amassed an impressive CV of personal and ensemble achievements and made his contest debut at the recent West of England Area contest.

Mikey return

Meanwhile, Mikey Foley-Hall rejoins on 2nd cornet, having returned to the area to live.

The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduate was part of the Hepworth Band that came runner-up at the recent Yorkshire Area contest and is the organiser of the highly successful ConsTest competition which takes place in Birmingham.

In welcoming the players, the band also thanked Mark Cowley for his hard work and dedication over several years, as steps away due to increasing work commitments.
