With the first rays of a Summer sun starting to warm up the country, bands will hopefully be looking forward to giving a number of outdoor concerts over the coming months in parks and public spaces.
Once a regular feature in most areas of the country, they have started to become popular again after a period of decline thanks to investment in local facilities such as historic bandstands and with the emergence of self promoted community events.
Aneurin Bevan Day
One of the most established is 'Park' series is held at Bedwellty Park in Tredegar, where the local council has supported concerts at its picturesque bandstand for since the end of the Second World War.
This year once again sees community events held to celebrate Armed Forces Day and Aneurin Bevan Day — the latter to honour the town's most famous political son and the founding inspiration behind the setting up of the National Health Service.
The concerts are all free and take place every Sunday from 25th May at 3.00pm
