Final Nordic call for Gray

If you want to be part of Russell Gray's Conducting Course in Askoy you still have time to get in on the action.

The course will be led by Russell Gray

A final call has gone out to aspiring conductors who wish to snatch the opportunity to work alongside Russell Gray in Norway this weekend as part of his Conducting Seminar in Askoy.

Fresh from a busy weekend of conducting (both with Foden's Band and as part of the jury for the European Conducting Competition) in Stavanger, Russell has already hosted a successful event in Scotland, and will now head to Askoy to help the development of conductors there.

Friday start

The Norwegian course starts on Friday 23rd May at Folleso Musikklag where the conductors will work on Edward Gregson's 'Laudate Dominum' as well as other compositions.

The Yamaha Artist stated: "It's all about supporting the personal development of talent that is always there, to a higher standard; learning together, from baton techniques, rehearsal etiquette and interpretation of music by alternating between classroom sessions and full band rehearsals."

Conducting model

Russell will be assisted by Follesø Musikklag in their band room in Asketun on the island of Askøy.

It will see him lead delegates through the successful 'Voss Conducting Model' that has underpinned the development of a new generation of Lithuanian conductors.

Book now

There is still time to book a place by contacting Russell at: rusgray@btinternet.com

Here you will spend the weekend working with Folleso Musikklag, and you will conduct the band on the final concert Sunday 25th.
