Emma swaps New Zealand for Saddleworth

The Diggle Band has announced the appointment of Emma McMorran as their new solo horn.

Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, Emma brings a great deal of playing experience having enjoyed tenures with some of New Zealand's top bands, including the National Brass Band of New Zealand, Canterbury Brass, Nelson City Brass and Rangiora Brass.

Enjoying

Since moving to the UK, Emma has quickly found her feet at the Saddleworth-based band and told 4BR: "I'm really excited and enjoying things.

The band has been very welcoming and I can't wait to do more performances with the National Finals in Cheltenham a real highlight."

Fitted in

In welcoming Emma, Musical Director Sean Conway added: "Emma's fitted in brilliantly. She's a fantastic player with a lovely sound and brings a calm confidence to the section. We're really glad to have her on board and looking forward to what's ahead."
