Five members of Perthshire Brass — Gillian Brailsford, Harry Cooper, Jim Annan, Lindsay Kettles and Sandra Smith, have been honoured by Life Membership of the Scottish Brass Band Association for their outstanding service to the movement.
220 years and counting
The quintet, who have a combined total of 220 years of banding between them were presented with SBBA Life Membership medals at a special celebratory concert for which they were asked to choose music for the programme which had a particular significance to them from the march, 'Slaidburn' to 'MacArthur Park'.
Xander McDade, Provost of Perth & Kinross Council, SBBA secretary Tom Allan and Northern Counties Brass Band Association President Jim Wishart were also in attendance to honour the players.
Remarkable service
The quintet continues to give Perthshire Brass and the wider brass band movement in Scotland remarkable service, with no intention of retirement.
