The Scottish Brass Band Association is inviting entries for this year's Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships.
The event forms part of the three-contest Scottish Festival of Brass at the Perth Concert Hall later this year.
Five sections
Supported by Creative Scotland it takes place on Sunday 30th November, featuring youth bands in five competitive sections: Novice, Intermediate, Development, Senior and Premier, as well as a non-competitive category.
The adjudicators are Anne Crookston alongside Glyn and Helen Williams.
Programme choices
Bands in the Novice section are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 10 minutes, which must include the set work 'All Summer Long' from the Fun Factory Junior Band Series by Alan Fernie.
Bands in the Intermediate and Development sections are to play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 15 minutes which must include the set work 'Tequila!' from Let's Go, Level Three from Junior Band Series by Alan Fernie, and for the Development Section, 'Mission Impossible' by Lalo Schifrin, arranged by Alan Fernie, from Junior Band Series.
Senior Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 20 minutes playing time. Premier Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 25 minutes playing time.
