Boarshurst Silver Band has announced the appointment of the experienced Andrew White as its new Musical Director.

He will now take responsibility to prepare the band for the busy concert period prior to Christmas and with their Championship Section contest challenges in 2026.

Fortunate

A hugely experienced music educator, he has been Chairperson of both the National Conductors Association and National College of Brass, and told 4BR: "I've been fortunate to find a band with similar aspirations and an infectious positivity that has already been successful on the concert stage.

The technical skills of this band are impressive and I look forward to the exciting challenges ahead."

Looking forward

In response, Band Secretary Linda Finan said: "Andrew is a very respected musician and Musical Director. We look forward to working alongside him as we prepare for another year in the Championship Section."
