The funeral details for Peter Tombs have been announced

It has been announced that the funeral of the former Hatfield & Askern Colliery cornet player Peter Tombs will take place on Friday, 5th December.

Peter was a dedicated member of the Yorkshire band for over 15 years, a period that saw him enjoy yet another chapter of a fine brass banding life that spanned over 60 years.

Condolences from around the wider banding movement have been sent to his widow, Steph and his family.

Funeral

The funeral will take place at St John's Church, Carlton in Lindrick (S81 9EG) at 11.00am. A committal service will follow at Babworth Crematorium (DN22 8FJ), where all are welcome, plus a celebration of his life accompanied by food and refreshments at Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor (DN22 8QS).

If you wish to honour Peter's memory, the family has asked for donations towards the purchase of a fold away bed for Ward 18, whose staff cared for Peter during his time in Doncaster Hospital.
