Easington Colliery Band has announced the signing of two established performers to its ranks ahead of the start of the 2026 contesting season.
Andrew Hall comes in on first horn, whilst Tim Priestley joins on BBb Bass to bring over half a century of banding experience with them.
Andrew has enjoyed over four decades of banding in the North East of England, most notably 26 years with the Ever Ready (Reg Vardy) band. As a conductor he has also led Bearpark & Esh and Trimdon Brass to Area title success and the National Finals.
Tim is a former solo euphonium and BBb bass player with Rothwell Temperance as well as EYMS (City of Hull), enjoying considerable success with both. He has also performed with The Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass Quintet and NASUWT Riverside.
Delighted and enthused
Speaking about their moves Andrew said that he was delighted to join the band alongside his daughter. "Having enjoyed many years at Ever Ready I felt the time was right for a move; when offered a place I was delighted to accept and already feel at home."
Tim added that he was "full of enthusiasm"about playing with a band that has enjoyed a remarkable level of high-profile appearances of late.
Upward trajectory
In response, Easington MD, Graeme Tindall said: "The band is on an upward trajectory built on confidence, exceptional musicality and commitment to our local community who are deeply invested in the band they support.
Andy and Tim will be a valuable addition to our team. They are both talented musicians and will contribute significantly to our success."
