The duo add to the ranks of Haverhill Band

Haverhill Silver Band has welcomed a brace of new signings as they look forward to the upcoming contest season.

The London & Southern Counties top section challengers welcome Simon Fenn on flugel horn, whilst Andy Hunt returns to become principal cornet.

Experienced

Both are highly experienced players, with Simon joining from East of England Co-op, where he played principal cornet, soprano and flugel. He stated that he was "relishing" his new opportunity.

Andy studied at the University of Huddersfield under Phillip McCann and played with the likes of Skelmanthorpe and Yorkshire Imperial.

Following a short break from banding and a move to Suffolk he joined Haverhill up until the break from Covid. More recently he played with East of England Co-op Band where he became principal cornet.

Thrilled

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We're thrilled to have Andy and Simon join us, and we're looking forward to putting on some great performances together."
