Radio: Bandstand

A new brass band radio programme is being broadcast on ABC Classic in Australia each week.

Bandstand
The weekly broadcast in available to listen to for 28 days

A new brass band radio broadcast has just made its debut on ABC Classic in Australia.

Entitled, 'Bandstand' the weekly one hour programme each Wednesday at 7.00pm is hosted by presenter Lucas Burns with the aim to, "celebrate the richness of brass and wind repertoire."

Delight

He told 4BR: "This music has been part of my life for decades. I started playing in community bands back in the late 80s and still play in them today. Over the years, I've played in both wind and brass bands both here and in Japan.

I've also presented a long-running brass programme on community radio in Melbourne and co-hosted a brass band podcast for several years. For the past 17 years, I've worked as a music producer and presenter at ABC Classic, so you can understand my delight that this music will be reaching an even wider audience."
