The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain is reminding young Scottish brass and percussion players that they can still audition to be part of the 2027 National Children's Band and National Youth Brass Band.
There has already been an excellent response from talent youngsters who have already undertaken auditions at various centres across England and Wales, with further dates in Shipley, West Yorkshire, Salford in Greater Manchester and London to come.
Scottish auditions
The free Scottish auditions will be held Sunday 1st November at the Silver Cloud Studio, Hillington Park, Glasgow — the rehearsal facility used by the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
Katrina Marzella-Wheeler, MD of the co-operation band and the Guest Conductor on the successful National Children's Band of Great Britain course earlier this year will be the assessor in an audition that will be welcoming and fully supportive.
Each audition takes about 15 minutes.
