Foden's was recently crowned British Open champion

The East Anglian Brass Band Association recently held its annual Brass Training Day at Hellesdon High School in Norwich.

British Open champion Foden's led the event, with Mike Eccles, Mark Wilkinson, Grace Jeffers, Gary Curtin, Kevin Lea and Stewart Baglin providing insight into the diverse music that included 'The Cossack', 'Fest Musik Der Stadt Wien', 'Rhapsody for Euphonium' with Gary Curtin as soloist, 'War Cry', 'Batman the Movie' and the hymn tune 'Ellers'.

This had been arranged by John Jeremy in memory of Brian Hastings shortly after Brian's death in 2004. Brian had been President and Chairman of the East Anglian Brass Band Association for many years.

Sold out

Speaking about the day, Association Secretary Christine Wade said: "The event was a sell out with 75 delegates. It was a privilege to accompany soloist Gary Curtin. It was a brilliant day, and I've received several emails and messages from delegates saying what a good day it was."

The Association also wishes to thank T & R Direct Insurance Services, Norfolk County Council and The Roger David Burrows Music Fund for their support.
