Twenty-seven young musicians recently took part in the latest Warwickshire & Coventry Youth Brass Band day course at Kingsley School in Leamington Spa.
Under the direction of Tom Stoneman, the band made up from players from the region meets three or four times each year and is free to any brass and percussion players who have achieved, or are working towards, Grade 4 standard.
Success
Success has seen it grow in size, with the latest cohort of players enjoying tutoring from local brass band players, along with support from Warwickshire Music. The youngsters prepared music for a mini concert, featuring, amongst others, iconic music from television series 'The Traitors' and the blockbuster 'Barbie' film.
Fantastic
Speaking about the latest meeting, Richard Robinson, Interim Chairperson, said: "It was fantastic to welcome so many young musicians. The enthusiasm and commitment shown throughout the course was outstanding, particularly from those experiencing brass banding for the very first time."
He added: "We are looking forward to meeting again in February and hope even more young musicians from across Warwickshire and the surrounding region will join us. We remain grateful for the continued support of Warwickshire Music, whose support helps make these opportunities possible for young people."
