Staines departure for McElligott

Staines Brass and Ian McElligott have parted compnay after 6 years together.

McElligott

Staines Brass has announced the departure of their MD Ian McElligott after 6 years with the band.

Success

In this time the band qualified three times for the Lower Section finals, then on promotion to the Championship Section qualified for the National Finals in 2006 taking 11th place.

Bad patch

The band have gone through a particularly bad 18 months since that time and have stated that they feel that it is time to make a fresh start and so are looking for a new MD in time to take the band to the L&SC Regional Championships in March.

Ian will be missed within the band but I’m sure we will always keep close ties. The band would like to wish him every success with his recent appointment with Sandhurst Silver BandBand Manager Jason Pickin

All the best

Ian had this to say: "I fully understand the bands reasons for change and support them in their future goals. I have had a very good six years with the band and will take a lot of fond memories away with me. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the band the very best for the future."

Missed

Band Manager Jason Pickin told 4BR: "Ian will be missed within the band but I’m sure we will always keep close ties. The band would like to wish him every success with his recent appointment with Sandhurst Silver Band."
