The fundraising luncheon was held at the Glenroy RSL in Melbourne.

As the audience enjoyed their lunch, a select group of band members performed a programme of light entertainment music.

Guest speaker at the luncheon was Doreen Akkerman AM, Director Cancer Information & Support Service, Victorian Cancer Council.

“One in nine women will develop breast cancer,” Doreen said, “and events such as this help us support not just the women but their families in a holistic and practical way.”

Kelvin Thomson, Federal Member for Wills joined Doreen in thanking the band for adding their special flavour of musical flair to the afternoon.

The event was organised by long time Moreland City Band supporter, Betty Stokes.
