Brassfeast 08

Brassfeast, with the support of the Queensland Band Association, is running two social events at the Australian Nationals over the Easter Break.

Brassfeast

The first event is on Saturday 22nd March at the Beligan Beer Café which is within an easy walk of the City Hall.

A large group of people have already confirmed their attendance so it is looking to be a huge night!

It is a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and meet new people, at a venue which has showed a keen interest in supporting Brassfeast and the brass band community.

Bowling

However, the Bowling event on Monday 24th March has not received much interest with only 8 confirmed participants.

Brassfeast has paid for the event, and therefore cannot cancel without losing the money. Hopefully with a successful night on the Saturday, more people may be able to come and take part in the fun competition.

So, anyone who is around in Brisbane at 1.30pm on the Easter Monday, and is not playing/listening to the solos at that time, please consider coming down and having a bowl — it is only for a couple of hours and Strike at Wintergarden is a fantastic venue...and it is only 5 minutes walk from the City Hall.

Brassfeast is sponsoring two sections at the Nationals – the Australian Junior Champion of Champions, and the A Grade Own Choice and March – from funds raised at events in 2007.

Future plans included an Australian version of a “Brass in Concert” type entertainment contest with prize money, however, these sort of plans won’t be able to be realized without funds being raised.

Support Brassfeast, and have a great time at one of the social events.
