For the third time in his career, Kevin Donaldson will take over the soprano cornet seat at YBS.

YBS

After a break of 2 years the YBS Band has announced that Kevin Donaldson has rejoined them on soprano cornet.

Kevin was one of the original members of the band when Yorkshire Building Society began their sponsorship in the mid 1990s and he was a key figure in the band's early success.

Vast experience

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Kevin brings a vast amount of playing experience to the cornet section, having played with many of the country's top bands on the concert and contest stage over the past 30 years."

It's great to be back for a third time. YBS is in the blood, so to return once more at such an exciting time for the band is something I am really looking forward toKevin Donaldson

Delighted

Meanwhile Kevin told 4BR that he was delighted to have been asked to play for the band again and hopes to help the band in their quest for quality music making of the highest standards, and to keep the name of YBS at the forefront of the brass band movement.

Great to be back

"It's great to be back for a third time. YBS is in the blood, so to return once more at such an exciting time for the band is something I am really looking forward to."

The band has taken the opportunity to thank Gary Bates for the work he has done with the band over the last few months and they wish him all the best for the future.
