No more McKnight rider at Flixton

Iain McKnight and Flixton Band have parted compnay.

Flixton

Iain McKnight and Flixton Band have made the decision to part company by mutual consent, after a short but successful 10-month relationship.

No option

Commenting to 4BR, Iain said; "I was unable to reach an agreement regarding the development of the band with which all parties were satisfied, and therefore was left with no option but to offer my resignation. I have been very proud to be associated with the band, and wish them all the very best for their continued success and progress."

During Iain's time as Musical Director, the band has achieved contest wins at both Fleetwood and Pontin's as well as securing promotion to the national 2nd section for 2009.

This decision to move in separate directions will not only allow them to do this, but will also give me the opportunity to pursue other engagements, as I have always done when time allowedIain McKnight

Talent

"The band remains an ensemble with a great deal of talent and promise, and I'm sure that, with the right leadership, they will realise this in the coming months and years," continued Iain.

He added: "This decision to move in separate directions will not only allow them to do this, but will also give me the opportunity to pursue other engagements, as I have always done when time allowed. I look forward to the opportunity of working with a variety of bands, both as a player and conductor."

Future

As for the future? "At this time, though, I have no immediate plans of a permanent nature. I also hope that we will have the opportunity to work together again in the not too distant future, and I leave the band with happy memories and lasting friendships."
