Yorkshire announce 2009 judges

Yorkshire get first in on the act by announcing their adjudication teams for 2009.

The Yorkshire Brass Band Championships 2009 will take place at St. George’s Hall, Bradford over the weekend of 7th/8th March 2009.

The format for the weekend is as follows:

Saturday:(am)- Third Section
Adjudicators: Simone Rebello and Ian Brownbill

Saturday:(pm)- First Section
Adjudicators: Malcolm Brownbill and Colin Hardy

Sunday:(am)- Fourth Section
Adjudicators: David Horsfield and Roy Roe

Sunday:(pm)- Second Section
Adjudicators: Malcolm Brownbill and Christopher Wormald

Sunday:(pm)- Championship Section
Adjudicators: James Gourlay and Nigel Boddice

It will be the first time Simone Rebello has adjudicated for us and as far as I am aware the first time a female adjudicator has been invited to YorkshirePeggy Tomlinson

Announcing the format for the weekend Peggy Tomlinson, Regional Secretary, told 4BR: "We are delighted to be welcoming a new face to our adjudicators team at Yorkshire.

It will be the first time Simone Rebello has adjudicated for us and as far as I am aware the first time a female adjudicator has been invited to Yorkshire. Everyone else on the panel is an old friend and it will be a pleasure to welcome them all to Yorkshire again next year."

Cambrian Brass

Delph Band

May 15 • We are seeking an enthusiastic and musically skilled Associate Conductor to lead and develop our band alongside our current Musical Director Phil Goodwin. . Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8-10pm at Delph Band Club.


Tintwistle Band

May 15 • We have a vacancy for a soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled!. We rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle, under the baton of our superb MD, Jim Henson.
